Supply, NC gets its name from the significant role it played along the trade route in the 18th and 19th centuries. Green Swamp Preserve

The Green Swamp makes up almost 16,000 square miles of wilderness sprawling Brunswick County and Columbus County, North Carolina. This longleaf pine savanna forest is famous for its wild orchids and carnivorous plants such as the Venus flytrap and several species of pitcher plants. The Green Swamp nature preserve offers a unique landscape filled with rare wildlife including the American Alligator. Carolina Shores started as a neighborhood golfing community within Calabash, NC that became a town in 1998. The split came after years of disagreements between the two parties. The 2.5-mile area has town limits interlocking with Calabash but does not actually border any water despite what the name implies.

Caswell Beach

Caswell Beach is a little beach town located on the east end of Oak Island at the mouth of the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean. At the end of Caswell Beach is Fort Caswell which is well preserved from the civil war era with a rich history. The Oak Island lighthouse has been around since 1958 facing out towards the Atlantic. The area was designated a national historic district for a Christian retreat group, the North Carolina Baptist Assembly.
